The teachings of Buddhist Dharma came from the Buddha’s personal experiences and can be equally cultivated by all Buddhist practitioners, provided that they are equipped with the correct Buddhist knowledge. As a result, sentient beings in the human realm would have the highest potential to attain enlightenment from their cultivation. For this reason, Buddhist cultivation should be part of the everyday life of human beings.
There are several fundamental concepts of Buddhism and the two core principles include the notion of cause and effect as well as the unceasing transmigration within cyclic existence. We should be aware of the existence of a Buddha-nature that every sentient being innately possesses, without which, the “unceasing transmigration” will not make any sense when the physical bodies come to an end and we die.
Authentic Buddha Dharma consists of the cultivation on the path of liberation and the path toward Buddhahood. The cultivation and attainment on the former are in fact part of the latter. In Buddhist terms, liberation refers to the fact of breaking the bond of the karmic power to attain liberation from the transmigration within cyclic existence.
